Day 1

Arrival in Sofia. Transfer from the airport and short panoramic tour. Overnight.

Day 2

Breakfast half day tour of Sofia to visit Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, St. George Rotunda – 4th c, the oldest building preserved in Sofia, St. Sofia Church, the remains of the Roman fortification walls, the Presidency, the National Theatre, the Parliament square.Time at leisure. Overnight.

Day 3

Departure to Rila Monastery (UNESCO site, the largest monastery in Bulgaria). After lunch departure to Melnik. Visit the Rojen Monasery. Short tour of the smallest town in Bulgaria Melnik, situated at the foothills of sandstone pyramids, where once wine cellars were digged. In bygone days, the caravans departed from here to Venice, Vienna and Egypt as far as Madrid along the wine routes. Check in at a small 3* hotel. Visit Kordopulov House. Wine tasting. Overnight.

Day 4

Departure to the museum town of Bansko stop for short tour. Departure to Pvovdiv via Velingrad. Overnight in Plovdiv.

Day 5

Day in the region of Plovdiv - tour of Plovdiv in the morning – the Roman Amphitheatre, the ethnographic museum. Afternoon visit of Banchkovo Monastery and Brestovitsa village – wine tasting in traditional family winery. Overnight in Plovdiv.

Day 6

Departure to the town of Kazanluk and the Valley of the Thracian kings (3-4th century BC). Visit Kazanluk Thracian Tomb - copy (UNESCO site). Tasting of Rose Products (Kazanluk is the center of the Rose Valley as well, where once up to 75% of the world rose attar were produced). In the afternoon departure to Veliko Turnovo via Shipka peak. Wine tasting in Liaskovec near Veliko Turnovo. Arrival and accommodation in Veliko Turnovo - the Medieval Capital City of Bulgaria.

Day 7

In the morning tour of Veliko Turnovo - Tsarevets Royal Hill, Bawdwin’s Tower – the leader of the 4th Crusade, and Arbanassi museum village. Departure to the town of Shumen. Visit Tombul Mosque - the second biggest mosque on the Balkan peninsula. In the late afternoon wine tasting in one of the wineries of the Domain Boyar company in Shumen. Overnight.

Day 8

In the morning visit the unique Madara Horseman relief (UNESCO site) is located in the Madara National and Architectural reserve - a figure of a horseman, hacked out into the rock at a height of 23 meters. Departure to the town of Russe. En route visit the Sveshtari Thracian Tomb - unique monument of Thracian tomb architecture of world significance (UNESCO site). Arrival in Ruse - the largest Bulgarian Danubian town. Overnight.

Day 9

Departure to Sofia. En route visit Ivanovo Rock Monasteries (UNESCO site). Arrival in Sofia. Time of leisure. Farewell dinner with folklore performance.

Day 10

Free time before departure. Transfer to the airport and departure.
