CULINARY PLEASURES ABOUND AT THE IGUAZU GRAND

Organic Garden
Most of the fruits and vegetables that the restaurant uses in its dishes come from its own organic garden that was created as part of Iguazu Grand’s pro-environmental and ecological action.

The organic garden which was created in 2005, used to be a banana plantation. Mrs. Josefa has been taking care of it since its creation. Year after year the garden has been growing, occupying now 1200 square feet. In it, we grow citrus (grapefruits, tangerines, lemons, oranges, etc.), peaches, mango, hearts of palms, mate tea, guaraná, tomatoes, lettuce, red peppers, onions and many other vegetables depending on the season.

Our Executive Chef uses fresh products on a daily basis in his kitchen to serve all the restaurants of the property.

El Jardín
Overseen by the resort’s Executive Chef Luciano Grimaldi, the restaurant offers a sophisticated menu of international dishes that combine the aromas and colours of the region in subtle harmony. Spectacular buffets are served on weekends overlooking the swimming pools and gardens for the delight of guests.

Luciano was born in Junin, province of Buenos Aires on January 22nd, 1980. He developed his love of cooking as a child supported by his family. He went to cooking school at the Institute: The Bue Trainers.

He was always drawn to home cooking mixed with a touch of French style. He started his professional career working in restaurants in Buenos Aires until he discovered his mentor Guillaume Bianchi, the Executive Chef of the Buenos Aires Hilton.

He also acknowledges the influence of other very important chefs in his professional development, like Olivier Falchi, Daniel Gonzales and Guillermo Buzquiano.

His experience in Buenos Aires includes working at the Hotel Madero Sofitel as Executive Sous Chef and the Ceaser Park. Abroad he worked in Germany at the Pier House restaurant, in France and Italy at the Cordon Bleu where he did some internships in the Medicce Villa and in Rome in a two star restaurant.

He won his first prizes in the “Torneo Nacional de Chef”and in the “Gurmand Tournament in Muenster, Germany.

Luciano explains that “his dishes are a reflection of the scents that he keeps from his childhood and from his mentors that have inspired him in this beautiful art of cooking. I respect every ingredient and I enjoy with pleasure the effort and care I place in every dish”.

El Jardín ́s architectural style matches the hotel’s classical European design, with Carrara marble floors, rugs and large picture windows that overlook the three swimming pools and gardens. Its colour scheme reflects those of a garden: bright and varied, in tune with floral ornaments that decorate the room.

La Terraza
Renowned as one of the best barbecues in the region, La Terraza is open on weekends and offers a menu with specialties of the best Argentinean “asado” (BBQ).

Lobby Lounge
The imposing area composed by Carrara marble was recently renovated in order to give it a fresh look in accordance with the hotel’s unique fine décor. The new bar will be something to talk about. The Lobby Lounge is the best option to have a drink accompanied by the sweet melody of the grand piano which is the only one available in all Puerto Iguazu and is much appreciated by the locals. The Lobby Lounge offers our guests an international cocktail service, wine menu and variety of snacks. It has a flat screen (62 ̈) and an open-air terrace overlooking the pools. There is also a cigar menu and a variety of cognacs.

Events & Banquets
The IGUAZU GRAND Resort, Spa & Casino is the ideal place for seminars, incentive programs, conferences and executive meetings, offering the newest technology and necessary infrastructure to run events in a beautiful and comfortable environment. Our four lounges can hold meetings for 10 to 350 people.

Our staff guarantees excellent quality and service. The Iguazu Grand Hotel was chosen in 2006 as headquarters for the 26th Meeting of the Latin American Common Market Council (MERCOSUR), where we welcomed presidents from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia and Venezuela.

Café Magic
Inspired by the legendary Parisian cabarets, Café Magic offers a diverse variety of shows in a cabaret setting. This theatre is the best choice in Iguazu for a night of dancing, having a drink or enjoying good company. Artists such as Julio Bocca have enchanted our audiences.

HISTORY

Built in a 21-acre property with 1800 square yards of construction, the IGUAZU GRAND Resort, Spa & Casino opened its doors July 6, 1998.

The original work was directed by architect Carlos Sallaberry and the interior design by the Carlos Pianna studio. The interior design was then completed by the Spodek Studio, achieving a perfect balance between luxury and sophistication. The 17 acres of gardens where designed by the distinguished Thays Studio, that also designed the Botanical Gardens in Buenos Aires. The tropical vegetation that surrounds the IGUAZU GRAND Resort, Spa & Casino’s comes from the local jungles.

After passing through the hands of different owners, a small business group acquired the resort at the end of 2002 and initiated a series of changes that included the total remodelling of the Casino, the construction of the Spa del Paraíso and Playland.
